Servicing & Safety Checks
Often your annual boiler service is low down on your list of priorities and can slip your mind. We are pleased to offer a reminder service that will let you know when the boiler or fire are due their annual service or safety check.
Having your boiler serviced regularly will ensure it is running efficiently and help to keep it running safely. A faulty boiler can be very dangerous. During a boiler service the engineer will check for any leaks and issues. This will give you peace of mind when it comes to protecting your family and assist in keeping your boiler running efficiently.
By servicing the boiler, small problems can also be identified before they become bigger ones and can be repaired preventing future breakdowns.
As part of your oil boiler service we will also include installation of a replacement oil nozzle. This will prevent oil building in the nozzle and will keep the boiler running efficiently.
If you are a landlord, it is a legal requirement to have any gas or oil appliances safety checked annually, this would also include ensuring that flues are working efficiently. In some cases, if you do not have an annual gas safety check this can also void insurance policies.
Boiler Breakdowns & Repairs
With a wealth of experience and registered to work on gas, LPG and oil, S H Electrical UK Ltd are able to offer a full diagnostic and repair service. Our policy is to repair whenever possible and viable. It is sometimes the case that replacement parts are costly, and it may be worth considering a replacement boiler instead. We will always give you the options and costs attributed to these options so you can make an informed decision.
Power Flushing
A power flush is a process carried out that is designed to remove sludge, rust and other debris that may have built up in your boiler, pipework, or radiators. A chemical cleaner is added to the system, left for a few days and then a power flushing machine is connected which sends water through the central heating system at high velocity to dislodge any debris and this is then removed from the system. We would always recommend the installation of a magnetic filter to a boiler to prevent any build up of sludge or debris but if you have an older heating system or do not have a filter this may already be in your system.
A power flush may help if you have radiators that are cold with just a strip of warmth at the top; black sludgy water evident when you bleed radiator or poor circulation in your heating system. If you are having a new boiler installed we would recommend a flush of your existing pipework to ensure you have a cleaner system.
Installation of Replacement Boilers
Although registered installers for Baxi and Worcester we always assess each installation and recommend the best boiler to meet the requirements of the user. Different manufacturers and models of boilers are available with different warranty periods. All boilers come with warranties, but these can range from 2 to 12 years.
When considering the installation of a replacement boiler there may be various factors you may want to consider – cost, appearance, performance, warranty or capacity for example. We will always discuss options with you and provide quotes from different manufacturers if required. Once complete your installation will be registered with Gas Safe or OFTEC depending on the fuel type and all warranties will be registered for you.

As we are registered with Gas Safe, we can offer the full array of options for the installation of a new fire, stove, or full fireplace suite.
From the initial preparation of the area, right through to installation of hearth, surrounds and flues etc we provide the complete service. Initially you may want ideas of what options there are and costs for each of the options – we are happy to provide a no obligation quotation for the work required.
